Members of the Roots community gathered to make medicine bags and have conversations about Indigenous methodology.

The Roots team collaborated with CIEDAR (Cluster for Indigenous Engagement, Development, and Research) to facilitate their pilot workshop, CANOE (Circumspect Awareness and Navigation of Outcomes and Expectations).

Members of our research cluster, Roots for Indigenous Partnered Research, gathered for a day of collective art-making, sharing, and getting to know each other. Together we created art about ourselves, our identity, our inspirations, and our visions or the future before sharing the meanings of our creations with each other, opening doors for growing closer to one another in a relational way.

Roots hosted a beading circle and invited members of UBC’s research and Indigenous communities to join us in a day of fellowship, discussion, and of course, beading!

Roots collaborated with the Indigenous Research Support Initiative (IRSI) to hold a session at the 2025 Partnering in Research (PiR) Conference.
