In September 2025, the Roots team collaborated with CIEDAR (Cluster for Indigenous Engagement, Development, and Research) to facilitate their pilot workshop, CANOE (Circumspect Awareness and Navigation). The workshop focused on informing researchers about the principles of reflexivity and recognizing positionality, so they can engage with Indigenous communities safely and with care.
