This May, we held a weaving workshop led by Musqueam weaver and knowledge-keeper Rita Kompst. Rita shared stories of her journey learning to gather and weave cedar before guiding us in weaving cedar hearts, twined with natural hand-dyed wool. Together we had a day to slow down, work with our hands, learn a new skill, and learn about Musqueam cedar harvesting practices.
